Today’s first dedication goes to my adorable brother, Jason Knoedl.  Today is his birthday and he is one totally awesome dude (God’s honest truth, Ladies).  I love him and we (his family) wish him a very happy birthday.  The Beatles were before your time, Jay… but just roll with it, ok?

The second dedication turned into an entire video playlist when I got help from my friends on Twitter and Facebook.  An unnamed girlfriend is having man troubles tonight so I made a Girl Power Break Up Playlist on YouTube and it’s got some gems in it like Joan Jett’s “I hate myself for loving you” and Christina Aguilara’s “Fighter”.

I was listening to my iPod today and Everything I Own came on by Bread and it made me think of mi abuelita because I miss her so much still, after all these years.  And then I thought- I should dedicate a love song to her for Valentine’s Day.  And then I thought… “That might bum people out a little”.

So then I thought- I should mix it up.  And that’s when I decided y’all would like to play DJ too.  So- I want you to fill out the form at the bottom with your dedications and I’ll post them daily (I hope).

I don’t know how many I’ll post each day.  I guess it just depends on how many dedications I get.  It’ll be a game time decision.  One caveat- it’s gotta have a YouTube link- ’cause I’m visual.

Anyway, I’ll start with my first dedication to… the guy at the Starbucks across from the Tribune Tower this morning.  Why would you leave without asking me out?

The next is to an organization that helps over 18 local charities with their annual Gala called First Look for Charity at the Chicago Auto Show.  I made a video of Media Preview Day here.  And since Blues Traveler is the headlining band at the Gala (Yesss!) I dedicate Run-around to the success of ticket sales.  (Plus- it just makes me wanna bounce.)

Eric and Kathy‘s 2nd Chance Homecoming (101.9 fm The Mix) exceeded my expectations and I’m already looking forward to the third annual next year.  From the take-home pictures, to the decor, mascots, music… and of course, Goo Goo Dolls- I want to thank the entire staff that made Saturday night come together so beautifully at The Fairmont Hotel.  And big “ups” to Walgreens for sponsoring such a fun and well-produced event.  Put me down for the next one.

I had the pleasure of visiting with the Chicago icons in their green room at The Mix.  The Homecoming party will feature a mascot (currently being voted on by the community), a full Homecoming Court, cocktails, a DJ and… a private concert by The Goo Goo Dolls.  Though tickets sold out in 4 minutes, Chicagoans can still WIN tickets with Eric & Kathy on the air, on their Facebook Page and on Twitter with the hashtag #EK2ndHC
