Columbus Day Parade 2011


I got a history lesson Monday morning when I showed up to Chicago’s Columbus Day Parade.  For 59 years, Italian-Americans in Chicago have been using the holiday to promote Italian-Americans in Chicago.  The red, white and green sashes were impossible to miss.   Along the parade route, I had the chance to chat with Senator Dick Durbin, Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Dorothy Brown, Joe Perillo of Perillo Auto Group and Judy Baar Topinka, State Comptroller.
