2. @JodyRobbins has been especially cool to me this past week and I’ll take this opportunity to publicly thank him.  He’s been super generous with his business knowledge and maybe the older brother I never had.  Thanks Dude.  I picked this song ’cause you kinda remind me of Tom Petty.  Maybe it’s the hair.  Maybe it’s cause y’all are both cool.

3. Smoke Daddy  Being from Texas, I’ll take any excuse to chomp on some bar-b-que.  For about $10 per person, you enjoy their Super Bowl special of two pulled meats, two sides and choice of bread.  Wash it all down with $15 Miller Lites.  Stick around after the game for live music starting at 9pm.

4. Do you like to multi-task?  If you’re like me, the idea of staying in motin during the game is quite appealing.  10pin Bowling Lounge has a $25 Super Bowl special that includes bowling from 5 p.m. until the end of the game, and a halftime “bowler’s” buffet.  Register to win a Jamacian vacation in their raffle.

Today’s first dedication goes to my adorable brother, Jason Knoedl.  Today is his birthday and he is one totally awesome dude (God’s honest truth, Ladies).  I love him and we (his family) wish him a very happy birthday.  The Beatles were before your time, Jay… but just roll with it, ok?

The second dedication turned into an entire video playlist when I got help from my friends on Twitter and Facebook.  An unnamed girlfriend is having man troubles tonight so I made a Girl Power Break Up Playlist on YouTube and it’s got some gems in it like Joan Jett’s “I hate myself for loving you” and Christina Aguilara’s “Fighter”.

I was listening to my iPod today and Everything I Own came on by Bread and it made me think of mi abuelita because I miss her so much still, after all these years.  And then I thought- I should dedicate a love song to her for Valentine’s Day.  And then I thought… “That might bum people out a little”.

So then I thought- I should mix it up.  And that’s when I decided y’all would like to play DJ too.  So- I want you to fill out the form at the bottom with your dedications and I’ll post them daily (I hope).

I don’t know how many I’ll post each day.  I guess it just depends on how many dedications I get.  It’ll be a game time decision.  One caveat- it’s gotta have a YouTube link- ’cause I’m visual.

The next is to an organization that helps over 18 local charities with their annual Gala called First Look for Charity at the Chicago Auto Show.  I made a video of Media Preview Day here.  And since Blues Traveler is the headlining band at the Gala (Yesss!) I dedicate Run-around to the success of ticket sales.  (Plus- it just makes me wanna bounce.)

And full circle to Abuelita.  I know you’re with me, but I wish I could hug you.

Hey there Chicagoans- I want to invite you to Chicago Auto Show‘s First Look for Charity 2012.  I was recently invited to the media preview of the First Look and, as you can see in the video… I had a great time.

Tickets to the gala are $250 with over $200 of each ticket going to the charities.  The event is a truly elegant event requiring tuxedo suits and fancy gowns. (oh yeah?)  While getting a first look at all the new 2012 vehicles you can eat, drink, flirt and DANCE to the delightful sounds of Blues Traveler, the band of the evening!  Eek!  I love them!

It’s gonne be a great time benefitting wonderful local charities.  Join us.

I think it’ll be super-cute, feel-good movie.  Great for a group of ladies and actually… Guys- if you want us to look dreamily into your eyes after a movie, “chick flicks” have a higher success rate than “blood and guts”.  Great for a pre-Valentine’s date.  (Yes- it’s already time.)

I met Dan through Cheryl Hyatt Smith at Liz Strauss‘s SOBCon upon first moving to Chicago.  And I heard about Liz through Jason Alba, author of “I’m on Linkedin, now what?“  when I was reading the book in ’98 in an attempt to make “pre-move” connections.  After I read Jason’s book, I reached out, told him I got a lot out of it and asked him to make Chicago connections.

And that’s how I know Dan.  And we met in real life at SXSW last year in Austin.  And that’s my home town.  The end.
