Get a pedicab ride in Austin, TX! (1 of 13)

Austin, TX is known for its nightlife scene, but when your wearing heels, the walk from one end of 6th Street to the other can be a real burr in your saddle. Luckily, one of the the greenest forms of transportation is also one of the most prolific in downtown Austin. AND, the pedicab, or rickshaw, is not only one of the most scenic ways to view the city, it’s also WAY more fun than cabbing it. Strapping men and women can pedal up to 3 (or sometimes 4) people in one cab, so it makes sense to share the night air with some friends.

Though there is no fixed cost for the ride, I find it hard to give less than $10 for this almost surreal experience. The night air… whisking through traffic… and all without a motor. I love it. You can tell they love it too.

Though some pedicabs accept credit cards, cash is always best.
