Swing by the Golden Slipper Village (4 of 13)

I can’t take you on a visit to Austin without visiting my uncles at Golden Slipper Village.  My grandfather secured the shopping center decades ago and it remains in my family even today.  Uncle Abel Hernandez owns and runs Golden Slipper Shoe Repair.  Bring in your favorites shoes, purses, bags and belts for quality craftsmanship at affordable prices.

Next door to Golden Slipper Shoe Repair is Turntable Records owned and run by my uncle, Thomas Hernandez.  He specializes in Tejano and Hip-Hop but he has a little bit of everything for everyone.  You can listen to the music in the store before you buy it in addition to fueling the local economy.

A handful of other local shops grace “The Village” at South 1st and West Mary including The Soup Peddler, Sharp’s Locksmith and Under Pressure Screen Printing.
